What’s incredible is just how amazing that kind of income really is. Russell Wilson as an example just got a 7 million dollar mansion after he got his contract. That sounds excessive, except he’s making 21 million this year. His mansion is one damn third of his salary. Is your house one third of your salary? Fuck no, my house cost over triple my salary, and for many people it’s even higher. A Ferrari? Marshawn’s Lambo? What, maybe 10-20% of their salary? Whereas most people, their new Chevy Cruze was priced out at a little less than half their annual salary. I daresay that if Hardy owned no other cars, him driving that Ferrari is the equivalent of me driving a Celica AllTrac.

I see no problem with this.
Then again I didn’t have a chance to watch any games today, so I may have missed something.

I am not gonna link it here, but you may check over at Deadspin for more information.

My problem is people complain about whatever latest garbage the NFL defends or endorses or whatever, but they continue to consume the NFL, thus perpetuating the issues they allegedly are so strongly opposed to.
Greg is in that Ferrari because fans don’t really care what he does off the field. They might make a tweet feel better about themselves, but it does nothing. Ratings continue to show that. Female viewership is actually rising in spite of Frank Clark, Greg Hardy, Ray Rice, sexist labor practices with team cheerleaders, etc.

Probably depends on one’s individual friends circle, but a lot of people I know have indeed stopped consuming the NFL and/or NCAA over ethical concerns, and many parents I know will not let their children play organized football either due to lack of adequate concussion information. As far as actual data though... I haven’t seen the bit about female viewership, but I’ll look it up, do you have a link?

I'm a fan but I emailed the Cowboys that I won't be going to the stadium, buying jerseys. Not sure how much good it will do. Hopefully a few other people are doing the same.
